“Who is this Chick?” Good question!

Truth is…I’m just starting to figure it out myself. Or maybe…I’m just finally being honest and no longer willing to live in fear.  That’s probably more like it.

I’m a mother to 3, happily married wife of one, 50-something year old Daughter of the King.

That would be: Jesus

I have been Galatians 2:20- crucified with Christ so that it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives within me. I can make no apologies, excuses or compromises about that because it’s the one thing… I know that I know that I know.

If God can use my mess to make His message more clear to someone, then I’m willing. That’s why I’m here.

  • I adore cats. Next question?
  • I love to cook & the only thing I love to do more is EAT!
  •  I love to sing and worship through song and music; I met Jesus this way
  •  I love physical labor and gardening–the feel of the earth in my hands and the scent of herbs and flowers is intoxicating.

I’m a video editor and media designer by trade, and a writer/poet by design…an artsy-funky type who loves “up-cycling” anything I can get my hands on.

I love to make beautiful things. I especially love to take things people have discarded or would ignore….and turn them into something lovely. Folk art is the name others would give to this process; I call it redemption.

Awe and Wonder of GodRedemption
is my story.

  • I too once was lost— discarded and broken.
  • Now I am found, redeemed and forgiven.
  • I’ve been given beauty for ashes and a garment of praise instead of despair.

My greatest desire is to bring glory to God living the rest of my life to help others know the beauty and peace of redemption as well. This is why I write.

You may be wondering, “Lorretta, just what does this site have to do with dancing?”

That’s another GOOD question!

When I set out to hammer my stake in the blogosphere, I struggled for a long time to come up with an appropriate name that fit who and where I am and the reason I intend to write.

It’s like naming a child; you’d better like the sound of it because you’re going to be hearing it and saying it for a LONG time! It needed to fit.

Then I spotted this picture on the wall above my stove with this verse:Psalm30

“You have turned for me
my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,” Psalm 30:11

And I realized this is it: for as long as I have left to live, I want to dance before the Lord and bring glory and fame to his name in this place. So I’ll strive to “dance” on the dash = the space between my earthly birth and my earthly death…until He takes me home to glory.

Oh, Jesus, may it be so.

Maybe you’re a “dash dancer” too? If so, consider joining me in the journey and sign up for email updates. I typically only post once a week or two so I pinkie-promise not to blow up your inbox!

And by all means, feel free to share what’s written in these “pages” to encourage another…it all belongs to Him.

Dancing,
