Art and God

 “Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.”
Isaiah 43:18-19

The impulse to create, invent, write, sing….make and BE art is the most distinct  and explicit indicator of our origins in Creator….God.

It’s our sorting from the chaos.
It’s our beauty in the ashes.
It’s the discovery our great truth divided from the lies.

It’s the deep desire for something…. ANYTHING to make sense.
It’s the longing to hear a symphony rising above the noise banging in our ears and to somehow take our place in the Great Chord.
To find our way through it all and  become a part of the eternal Harmony and “sing”, through our craft, that song to another.

It’s been said that imitation of another is the sincerest form of flattery.
Imitation of God… worship.

It’s the best we can do.

  1. In the words of Ravi Zacharias ” all longing can be traced to a longing for God ” May all of our longing be turned to worship! Thank you for such a beautiful reminder.

  2. Oooo. Good one. It all comes from HIm and it is a form of worship! I can imagine our Father smiling down when we pour our hearts out the way He designed them to when we’re in His will. How awesome is that? Excellent post!

    1. thank you Lisa…the bee was a “God kiss” … I had been trying to photograph one for awhile and then BAM just at that moment I pushed the button! Wished I’d been in focus on the bee but what a treasure all the same!
